This flexible two-year full-time (or three-year part-time) course equips students with advanced nursing knowledge across clinical, biological, and social sciences. 

It includes at least 640 hours of supervised clinical placements in a variety of healthcare settings, ensuring hands-on experience. Delivered through modern facilities with interactive simulations, the program focuses on developing critical thinking, ethical standards, cultural competence, leadership, and evidence-based practice.

Graduates earn eligibility for registration as Registered Nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, opening wider career opportunities in healthcare.

Please note: Students will need to complete clinical placements and may also be required to attend intensive workshops at the Gold Coast, Lismore, or Coffs Harbour campuses.

The degree is offered as a 4-year full-time equivalent program (or up to 8 years part-time).

You can choose from five teaching pathways:

1. Early Childhood / Primary
2. Primary (with English specialisation and optional Science/Maths specialisations)
3. Primary / Secondary (with English primary specialisation plus one secondary specialisation)
4. Secondary (with two subject specialisations)
5. Secondary: Design & Technology (Industrial Technology or Food & Fibre + another subject)

• The first year lays strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, subject content, and contemporary educational issues.
• Across the program you’ll engage with key themes such as Indigenous education, sustainability, inclusive and special education, curriculum design, and pedagogical strategies.
• A major feature is professional experience placements: hours in real classrooms or early childhood settings, depending on your specialisation (e.g. up to 110 days / 880 hours for Early Childhood / Primary).
• To qualify for the award, you must complete 32 units (384 credit points) plus required placement units.
• Students begin by attempting the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) in their first year (a national requirement for future teachers in Australia).
• The degree is accredited by key professional bodies: NESA (NSW), QCT (Queensland), and for early childhood via ACECQA.

The Bachelor of Midwifery prepares you for entry to professional midwifery practice. You will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to provide quality, woman-centered care through safe and effective midwifery practice per the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council standards for practice.

Study areas include anatomy and physiology, midwifery theory and practice, primary healthcare, perinatal mental health, care during preconception, pregnancy, labor and birth, and early parenting.

Graduates will be equipped to work in multidisciplinary teams and in partnership with women to contribute to healthier outcomes for mothers and babies.

A career in mental health is in high demand. The Bachelor of Counseling offers a path to a fulfilling career with excellent job prospects. 

This degree provides a strong base in several key areas. These include psychology, assessment techniques, intervention strategies, counseling theories, practical application of counseling skills, and the crucial art of building therapeutic relationships.

Students gain practical counseling experience through extensive placements, which provide valuable real-world experience. The university fosters a thriving community of researchers and thought leaders. 

These experts specialize in social work and policy, psychology, and community welfare. This environment provides students access to cutting-edge knowledge and support from experienced professionals.
 

This is a fully accredited, entry level qualification that opens the door to being a professional social worker. Over four years (or longer part-time), you'll build knowledge in social theories, human development, research, ethics, and social policy.

You’ll also study Indigenous world views and frameworks focused on anti-oppression, decolonisation, and trauma-informed practice.

A standout feature is the 1,000 hours of supervised field placements (Work Integrated Learning), where you’ll work in real service organisations to connect what you learn in class with real life. The degree also includes electives so you can explore areas you're passionate about, and there’s an option for an embedded Honours stream for students interested in research.

Across the degree, all students (even those studying online) must do at least 20 days / 150 hours of on-campus learning (residential schools or units with in-person components).

When you graduate, you'll be eligible to join the Australian Association of Social Workers and qualified to work in areas like mental health, child welfare, disability, community development, and policy roles.

A Bachelor of Physiotherapy develops movement specialists. The program focuses on the mechanics of the human body, exploring the interaction between muscle and bone, as well as neural movement control. 

Understanding pain mechanisms and rehabilitation strategies forms a core component. Graduates learn to design exercise programs for diverse populations, employing current technologies and research. Proficiency in autonomous and collaborative work within healthcare settings is cultivated.

A Bachelor of Speech Pathology prepares you for this fulfilling profession.
